A hair salon with roots in New York City

becca is my cozy corner of Brooklyn, where New York energy meets Italian soul. I created this community space because I wanted to capture a very specific feeling, one that has been with me since my childhood. I grew up in an Italian bistro in Manhattan, where the door was always swinging open, inviting the city’s wild, electric energy. Inside, people exhaled. It was warm, inviting, a place where the innovators and luminaries of the city lingered over espresso and vino, argued about art, and laughed like family.

That is the heartbeat I wanted for becca. A space for Brooklyn’s powerful, fascinating, and admirable women, men, and non binary people. My guests are the pulse of New York. Artists, parents, entrepreneurs, deep thinkers, visionaries. At becca, my dream is for you to slow down, chat like old friends, dream up the style that feels most you, and let me work my magic while you relax, recharge, and feel celebrated. Think aperitifs, biscotti, and a little sparkle alongside your glow up. It is a hair and beauty salon where trends of the past and future meet in one stylistic moment. This is the Becca experience. Flavorful, soulful, and made uniquely for you.

Rebecca Avellino

I am a hair sculptor, colorist, oil painter, and a born and raised Italian American New Yorker. I have been in the hair, beauty, and bridal industry for 15 years and in all 35 years of my life, never once traded in my precious city skyline. My roots are deeply intertwined with the vibrant, multicultural, and multiethnic fabric of this city.

My hands have shaped everything from effortless bridal styles to sculptural haircuts that move with you, and a range of hair colors that feel lived in yet bold and intentional. I love to embrace gray hair as part of your color project.

Whether we are blending in whispers of soft lowlights or painting in bold pops of color, we can play nice with your silver and have fun with it. My approach to cutting, coloring, and styling hair is low maintenance and long lasting for the busy New Yorker. I believe in working with hair in a way that embraces its individualism and tells your story.

I sculpt cut curly, wavy, and straight hair from many different cultural backgrounds, encouraging boldness, dance, and room for the hair to move, curl, or wave however it wants. Working with hair and people has been a rewarding and soulful journey for me, both personally and professionally. I live through my feelings of gratitude for all of you.
